Save World Total Population
There are nearly 8 billion people living on Earth right now; to be precise, 7.6 billion as of the year of 2020. Population growth maintains around 1% every year and is slowing down, because birth rate is low and declining. When birth rate gets lower than fertility replacement rate (2.1 births per woman), population will start to decline.
Population in Africa is projected to increase by 1.3 billion by 2050. Birth rate is expected to decline to 3 births per woman. Asian population is projected to increase 750 million with a birth rate of 1.9. Total population declines in Europe as death rate in the Eastern Europe is high.
Japan has the worst demographics with low birth rate and an aged population. Over 25% of its population are over 65 years old; 40% of its population will reach 65 years old by 2050. By then, labor force will shrink to half of its population; dependency ratio reaches 1.
