Save Japan Exports
Exports account for roughly 16% of GDP. Japan mainly exports to the US, China, and Four Asian Drags. The main export is transport equipment, machinery, and electrical machinery.
Internal demand has been weak for a long time, Japanese prime minister Abe proposed the commonly known "Abenomics", which aims to stimulate export by depreciating Yen. It worked, but Yen rose strongly in 2016 due to a global economic slowdown, and Japanese export declined again.
