OECD Business Confidence Index
The OECD Business Confidence Index (BCI) evaluates future business developments through surveys on manufacturing output, orders, and finished goods inventory. A BCI reading above 100 indicates increased confidence in upcoming business performance, while a reading below 100 suggests pessimism about future prospects. The BCI is designed to have a long-term average of 100 and primarily focuses on the manufacturing sector, excluding industries such as construction, retail trade, and services.
